The British actor will be the new superhero of DC Comics in the film directed by Matt Reeves and will be released in 2021.
British actor Robert Pattinson will star in Batman in the new DC Comics superhero film directed by Matt Reeves, Variety media reported Thursday… Although the agreement between Pattinson and Warner Bros. is not yet closed, the US portal said that the positions are very close.
This new film will be titled The Batman, is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021 and will focus on a Bruce Wayne younger than the previous installments, which was played by Ben Affleck.
Affleck played the superhero in Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad (both 2016), and The Justice League (2017) and for a long time it was assumed that he would also do it in The Batman , but in January was taken off the project. At the beginning, Affleck was also going to direct the film, a position he already resigned in 2017.
All these films belong to the Warner Bros. film universe about the DC Comics stories. Although there is no date yet for the beginning of the recording, according to Variety is expected by the end of the year or early 2020, while the preproduction of the tape will begin in summer.
Pattison, 33, premiered at the cinema in 2005 playing Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter saga and devoted himself to starring the vampire Edward Cullen in the film adaptations of the novels Crespúsculo. He also played the Catalan painter Salvador Dalí in Little Ashes (2008).
This year the actor will appear in four premieres: High Life by Frenchwoman Clarie Denis, The Lighthouse by American Robert Eggers, and The King by Australian David Michôd for Netflix and Waiting for the Barbarians by Colombian Ciro Guerra.
